Shot of the Day #24: Foreground Fairy

Out in Sherman Oaks for various tasks (pick-up shot on secret video project, birthday card for-well I'll get to that later, Sharkey's Burritos run, etc), we stopped by Psychic Eye Bookshop on Ventura for crystals....long story. But the store had everything from WICCA FOR DUMMIES to authentic Broadswords to other various medieval & Occult Bric-a-brac, which I guess I could write off as "research" (more on that later too...hint hint). Grabbed this shot of a eerily beautiful Fairy Maquette on display and noticed the totally badass skull lamp in the background, so naturally, in the name of SOTD, I had to compose the fuck out of the moment.
Pretty cool shot for pretty cool shit.

Yet...this barely made SOTD because this evening was Tobe Hooper's surprise birthday party, and arguably one of the greatest nights of my geek-infused life. To be cryptic, Ill leave you with one grainy, DOGMA 95-esque snap from the historic soiree, which I never expected would gather almost all of my cinematic heroes in one room, and not just from the horror world. I'm still euphoric from the experience.
