Shot of the Day #230: He's the cure.

Another shit-tastic day saved only by a screening of one of my childhood delights, Sly Stallone's Razzie-nominated COBRA. Seeing it in all it's HD glory (thanks to the always amazing HDnetMovies), I forgot just how "ODD" the movie plays out...the punk-lite approach is more like Sly watched REPO MAN and went "Hey, yo!" and tried to apply the same attitude to it, only with cooler cars, dated soundtrack, Brigitte Neilsen and mirrored shades. As a kid I ate it all up, the mayhem, the excessive violence...and here and now its more nostalgia than real appreciation. But the scene where his "diet" consisting of Cobretti taking a scissor to the end of a slice of old pizza to consume while watching a Christmas-themed Toys R Us ad is a sliver of genius.

This view right here? The cure for my Tuesday blues.
