Shot of the Day #264: Sushi!!!!!
Shot with iphone, click to enlarge.
Sushi, it's an art form.
So many places in LA for decent to decadent sushi, but one of the best is KatSu-Ya, which is where we took FrightFest UK Organizer (and all around "Dahhhhling") Paul McEvoy, who was in from Toronto for a few days before going off to FantasticFest, which is this week (and so pissed Im not going, oh well...maybe next year). Paul's never had sushi before, so we HAD to take him to what could be the best raw fish in town next to Jumbo's Clown Room (wait, that might be the WORST fish in town, scratch that). Luckily we got in before the rush and got to have some truly exquisite dishes, some of the chef's specialties that I haven't even tried....
Crunchy rice and Tuna? WOW.
Seared Albacore w/ Crispy Onions? DAMN.
Creamy Rock Shrimp Tempura? MORE PLEASE!
Plus, it was cool to see Dr. Horrible himself, Neil Patrick Harris, sitting behind us, gobbling away as well. A day after hosting The Emmys (which he did an AWESOME job with, BTW) you'd be hungry too!
Kampai,
Joe
