Shot of the Day 333: Sunday at The Swingers Jukebox

God bless the Swingers Diner in Santa Monica. Not only do they offer vegan-friendly food, but also have amazing breakfast (all day, mind you) and one of the best jukeboxes in town. Case in point; As we sit down, a familiar bassriff hits the ears and IMMEDIATELY I'm transported back to my dad's shop in Long Island where the mechanic used to play Jane's Addiction's RITUAL DE LO HABITUAL front to back, flipping the cassette over on his CD dub at the 30 mark after "Obvious" because their monster hit, 'Been Caught Stealing" was the first track on the next side.

The song in question? "No One's Leaving". Haven't heard it in almost 20 years, but just like that, it brought back so many memories. Remy was digging it too, bopping in the booth with reckless abandon, and Bri and I already agreed this kid is gonna be a music buff in one form or another. As long as its good music. Then again, what will be "good" when he can appreciate music? I gotta work on that.

OK, back to my breakfast burrito.
