KOB Shot of the Day #39: Merry Sunday Movie House!

Shot with iPhone, click to enlarge.

Sole day off before a big week back into it so had to run errands and cam across this old-fashioned movie house that made me miss the good ole days. Im guessing they dont have 3-D IMAX and 7.1, but there's always such a wonderful charm about these old places, brings back memories of walking into one of these places and on the left...one screen; on the right, the ONLY other screen...now its 20 screens and nothing good playing usually.

If I get a chance, Im gonna hit this up next weekend (AFTER we see INCEPTION of course). Could be a nice reward after fighting the good fight.

Onward to our first big week!!!

The Garland has ONE screen only - so depending on what you want to see, is a matter of what time you go. And yes, it is very cool!

We have an old movie house on Main Street that used to have a single screen until they split the theater down the middle during a remodel. Now there is two screens.

At least they kept the facade.

Correct it use to be the local $1 but times changed and prices went up. They have the bottomless tub of Popcorn. It is all very old time movie watching! I love tossing Popcorn up into the film light and watching it flicker as the real turns. A most see in Spokane I am sure they will close down for a cast and crew movie night!!

The Garland is amazing! They do free movies in the mornings for the kids in the summer and do special midnight shows on the weekends. One year for a special anniversary they showed the original "Creature From the Black Lagoon"! It's locally owned...no fancy franchise. The owner does private rentals too....you should talk to them! My kids and I go there all the time.

The Garland and Boo Radleys are two of the reasons I fell in love with Spokane and moved here after growing up in Westlake Village, CA. Love it here, but it's fun having you guys shoot out here. Hope you come back often.
